One of my favorite stories about creativity comes from Steve Chandler.

As I remember it, a business with a longstanding problem was stuck at arriving at a solution.

Steve was hired and coached them to the realization that everyone attempt to come up with a bunch of (seemingly) silly ideas with no pressure that they need work at first.

Once a person or two mustered the courage to get the ball rolling, the dozens of people gathered in the conference room started to laugh and laugh as absurd ideas began to flow.

They got to laugh through their unexpressed frustrations, and really just laughed, until someone had a genuinely bright idea dawn upon them.

The team (and now much moreso truly a team) then quickly rushed off to implement it.

Any organization, any individual can do something just so, like this.

If you were thinking you can't paint, bollocks!

We could wait until it rains and you could dip a finger or thumb or other appendage into some mud and then mud paint somewhere to your heart's content.
